Weddings and Events at The Gale Mansion

I toured the Gale Mansion with their event coordinator, Sarah Gruber and found this venue to be incredibly charming and romantic.  It's a fantastic venue for those looking for a mansion wedding in Minnesota.  It is located just south of downtown Minneapolis and was built in 1912.

An awesome location that would accomodate both the ceremony & reception.   An outdoor ceremony in the courtyard would be amazing, with a social hour in the main level amongst gorgeous woodwork, built-ins, fireplaces and historic charm, followed with a reception in the lower level  (elevator included) that has great space for formal dining, a stage for live entertainment and dancing.  Great space alloted for the getting ready rooms for the entire bridal party.   Pictures at this venue would be absolutely stunning with all the natural light that streams in with the gorgeous windows everywhere.

What I loved to learn about Sarah Gruber as their event coordinator, is that she stays for the entire event with her brides, ensuring all the details are attended to and creates a day that is sure to please.

Five Event Center

FIVE Event Center in Uptown Minneapolis is really a unique find for a contemporary reception venue.  It has a cool blend of modern New York style and historical architecture from the late 1800's.  It's history includes being Minneapolis' 5th Precint Police Station.  I enjoyed the tour of this venue with Chelle Crandall, Assistant Event Manager with Five Event Center.  She was very helpful and knowlegeable about this venue and their options available.        I like that folks can choose their own licensed caterers for their events.  Could be simple or extravagant.  We toured the kitchen area that is available to caterers --- wow! Tons of room!                                     Five Event Center can accomodate up to 200 guests for a seated dinner and up to 375 for a cocktail reception.                    Five Event Center is perfect for receptions, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, holiday parties, high school reunions and more.     Five Event Center has two levels, making this a really fun venue to explore. I loved the cozy corners with contemporary booths that make this a sweet spot to sit back with friends and enjoy the party.

The Chateau

We were invited to taste and experience Mintahoe's Food Tasting at The Chateau.

This is an awesome way for wedding couples to determine their menu for their special day. Robyn Hellekson with Mintahoe was a perfect host and guided us through our menu selections. Joy Devous-Baker with Mintahoe is also such a delight. We absolutely loved the food! I totally enjoyed taking pictures and participating in this event. We also learned about the weddings held at The Chateau with outdoor ceremonies off the back patio available, along with their charming reception area.

Check out the menu selection we tryed out:
Appetizers: Beef International Skewers with Peach Burbon Glaze, Bacon Shrimp Bites
Salads: Sunburst Salad (our favorite!) and Perfect Host House Salad
Entrees: Roast Beef with bordelaise sauce, Cheese Tortellini with sun-dried tomato cream sauce,

and Roast Pork Loin with rosemary Dijon sauce.
Dessert: Pastry Chef's Choice Wedding Cake, Carrot Cake and (to die for) Chocolate Cake

Romantic Wedding Venue

413 On Wacouta Event Center is located in Lowertown St Paul and is connected to the skyway. A truly Historic and Elegant Wedding Venue! Lynn McCollough, owner and fabulous host guided me through a very interesting tour of this historic building that hosts weddings, groom's dinners, bridal showers, corporate events and private parties. Their accomodations host 200 guests for sit down and 250 for a standing cocktail party. Exciting new rennovations includes a NEW Ceremony Suite to be completed by March 2010.

413 On Wacouta has created an intimate and romantic wedding venue that will take their guests breath away! Historical architecture combined with warm, inviting decor, give a modern flair to this amazing location.

413 On Wacouta has made it amazingly convenient to host the bride's ceremony and reception in the same venue.   On the main level features their NEW Ceremony Suite, bridal room, and VIP reception room that is all beautifully laid out.    Take the elevator down to an amazing reception area that is sure to dazzle everyone with the original stone work on the walls, displaying early St Paul artwork and wonderful mood lighting that is sure to provide a wonderful and intimate gathering.
