Distinctive Catering has amazing options for any special event --- my favorites thus far has been their onsite fresh crepe station and fresh fruit palm tree at a graduation party that was spectacular! Onsite grilling for their fajita feast made mouths water!

The owners, Seth & Dawn Brittain operate and run a top notch catering business.  Both work onsite providing exceptional service and seriously good food!   I have also been so impressed with their staffs attentiveness to detail and friendly service.

TCWP Celebrates Three Years at the Minneapolis Club

What a spectacular event at the Minneapolis Club for Twin Cities Wedding Professionals Celebrating Three Years!  I count it such a joy and privilege to be a part of this amazing networking group of wedding and event professionals.

Minneapolis Club is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.  The club was organized in 1883, and it's current building was built in 1908.  Gorgeous renovations have been made.   It is a beautiful place for any special event, weddings, receptions and more.

The Van Dusen Mansion ~ Spectacular Wedding Venue!

The Van Dusen Mansion built in 1892, located in Minneapolis is simply breath taking.   It has a magical, romantic feel throughout that is sure to impress.   I recently enjoyed a holiday event there, and it was so fun to hear people saying how they were falling in love with The Van Dusen as they strolled through the venue.  It has amazing charm, romance and beauty everywhere you look. 

Perfect location to host both the ceremony and reception, creating the most elegant and memorable event.  The space beyond the mansion is also amazing with their Grand Event Center, lovely courtyard and two-tiered Carriage House.    The Carriage House has an element of surprise and just continues to take your breath away, it's contemporary, hip and gorgeous!  I just love the two levels and being able to see down to the dance floor.   It makes for a marvelous, unforgettable event.

Jennifer and Matt Anderson are incredible venue hosts that go beyond your expectations, creating a warm and welcome environment with such kindness and hospitality.   Mintahoe Catering provides excellent food choices with great detail for appeal, taste and the wow factor.  Lisa Brenna & Elizabeth Hinke, Event Consultants with Mintahoe planned and created an awesome display of appetizers and food that was fantastic!

Weddings and Events at The Gale Mansion

I toured the Gale Mansion with their event coordinator, Sarah Gruber and found this venue to be incredibly charming and romantic.  It's a fantastic venue for those looking for a mansion wedding in Minnesota.  It is located just south of downtown Minneapolis and was built in 1912.  

An awesome location that would accomodate both the ceremony & reception.   An outdoor ceremony in the courtyard would be amazing, with a social hour in the main level amongst gorgeous woodwork, built-ins, fireplaces and historic charm, followed with a reception in the lower level  (elevator included) that has great space for formal dining, a stage for live entertainment and dancing.  Great space alloted for the getting ready rooms for the entire bridal party.   Pictures at this venue would be absolutely stunning with all the natural light that streams in with the gorgeous windows everywhere.

What I loved to learn about Sarah Gruber as their event coordinator, is that she stays for the entire event with her brides, ensuring all the details are attended to and creates a day that is sure to please.

Pretty in Pink Wedding Bouquet - Forest Lake Floral

Had the pleasure of photographing some gorgeous floral design work of Karen Klinkerfues with Forest Lake Floral at a mutual client's wedding this past weekend. 

It was so refreshing to see this floral designer stay and pin on boutineeres!   I tell my bride's it is worth any little extra service fee to have your florist stay and ensure flowers are pinned on correctly and everything is just right.  This bride's wedding flowers were gorgeous and definitely pretty in pink!

Tippy Top Creations - Graduation Cartoon Cake Topper

I just have to rave about Christa McKibben with Tippy Top Creations!   She created this cartoon cake topper for a high school graduate friend of ours.   Christa is fantastic to work with, even taking on a new technique to make the tatoo as legible as the orginial.  All the amazing detail is just priceless.   Thank you Tippy Top Creations!!!

A special story about the tatoo ... it's in memory of his uncle that served in the Marine Corps and gave his life for us while serving in Iraq.  

The tatoo reads: "Greater love has no one than this,

that he lay down his life for his friends."  John 15:13

Perfect Day Wedding Ceremonies - Rev. Susan Lee-Wright

I had the pleasure of working with Rev. Susan Lee Wright with Perfect Day Wedding Ceremonies recently.  Susan and I have shared some mutual clients in the past.  It's always such a compliment to me when Susan is able to refer a client to me for wedding photography coverage.  It was a pleasure to service Laura and Grant's wedding at Como Conservatory on April 10, 2010.

Susan always does such a fantastic job officiating the wedding ceremony.  I admire how much care and detail she puts into working with her wedding couples.  Susan's experience and ability to create a memorable and meaningful ceremony that wedding couples, families and guests will remember long after the day is gone by is truly amazing.   She can turn the most simple or extravagant ceremony into a masterpiece.

I asked Rev. Susan Lee-Wright for some Bridal Tips to share in this blog:
Stress Relieving Wedding Tip: If you have children in the wedding party have a "Children's Assistant" set up ahead of time to stay with them when they are lined up for their entrance and send them down the aisle when the time comes. If the kids are nervous or upset they can walk with them down the aisle or take them to their seats if they can't go through with it. This tip works wonders for calming the kids and the bride, since she will not have to worry about calming the children as well as herself!

PhotoOp Ceremony Tip: A good officiant should be thinking about the photos that will be taken during the ceremony and coach the Bride and Groom as well as inform the photographer of what will happen and when so they can pre-plan the shots. One of my favorites is the ring shot. I like to tell my Bride and Groom exactly how to hold each other's hand and put the ring in place and have them hold that position while they are saying the vows to maximize the potential for a fantastic shot of that timeless moment!

Queen of Cakes - Meet and Greet Soiree

Queen of Cakes Hosted a Marvelous Meet and Greet Soiree.

Bridal couples were invited to come in to Queen of Cakes Design Studio in Edina, Mn. to enjoy free cake tasting, champagne, hors d'oeuvre's and prize giveaways, while meeting a variety of  wedding professionals to talk about options for their wedding day.

An incredible limo bus was parked just outside the door that couples were able to view and walk through. Lively music filled the air courtesy of Complete Music's Entertainers.  Beautiful florals and sample wedding photo books were displayed with wedding vendors on the spot to answer questions and offer ideas for the couples' special day.

Queen of Cakes Design Studio offered a great evening out for wedding couples that are in the planning stages for their day.
