Absolutely Brings Me Back to My Roots of Being a Photographer

She shared her story, and my heart raced ...

Here is the email I recently received:
My name is Jeanna.  In 2010 you took some engagement photos for my husband and I at the Guthrie.  My husband Samuel Vazquez and I got married in June of 2010.  We have two sons, Emilio who is 7 and Evan who is 1.  My husband was working under my car in March of this year and the car fell on top of him and he was killed.  It would be such a treasure if you still had the photos you took.  Please let me know.

My heart raced as I read her email.   I remembered our session, but was unsure if  I still had those images from a free engagement promotion that I did in late 2009.   I went through my archives, then all my client folders, still to no avail.  This was a promotion, and I didn't have a client file on them.   I stopped in my tracks and offered up a prayer that I would find these images and be able to share them with this family.   I pulled out one final tote to check and found the disk with their session ..... tears of gratitude were whispered to heaven, as I just knew these would be a treasured gift to this family during their time of loss and grief.

Being able to share these images with her is such blessing because photos truly do hold the memories of those we love dear.    It is such a privilege to photograph life's moments.  Words cannot express.   (More about my roots of being a photographer)

In loving memory of Samuel Vazquez and the love with his bride, Jeanna.

  1. Thank you for taking the time to look for the pictures. Jeanna is a friend and I'm so glad she is able to have these beautiful photos. Thank you for your compassion; you make this world a better place.
